As strong winds and warm temperatures persist across northwest Oklahoma, here is a brief update on the wildfires that have sprung up across the region.
Cimarron Bend Fire
As of Wednesday at noon, the Cimarron Bend Fire has expanded to 2,500 acres and remains at 0% containment according to the National Interagency Fire Department (NIFC).
A level 3 evacuation order has been put into effect for the residents of Twin Lakes from County Line Rd. to North Council Rd. and County Rd. 75.
Any evacuees looking for shelter can head to Guthrie American Legion at 123 North 1st St. in Guthrie.
Indian Creek Fire
The Indian Creek Fire, which is burning just east of Highway-270 between Seiling and Canton, has been reported at 2,000 acres in size.
The NIFC has also reported that the fire has been 20% contained.
Rupe-Market Fire
The Rupe-Market Fire is both the closest fire to Enid and the smallest fire in this report. The NIFC has reported the fire at 801 acres in size, but it has been contained by 50%.
There is currently rain in the Wednesday evening forecast for northwest Oklahoma, so there are hopes that will aid in the containment process.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
