ODOT has announced that contractors will soon begin nighttime road work on US Highway 81.
This work will take place during two timeframes:
- Monday, June 2 through Thursday, June 5 from 8 p.m.-6 a.m.
- Monday June 9 through Friday, June 13 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
The work will entail sawing and sealing intersections at Poplar Ave., Willow Rd. and Purdue Ave. During the construction effort, US-81 will be reduced to single lane traffic with some complete intermittent closures, and traffic movements for side streets will be impacted for short periods of time.
Contractors are also planning to reinstall the traffic detector loops along the highway.
