Chisholm Trail Expo Center General Manager Coulten Cue recently had an interview with EnidLive about the upcoming Garfield County Fair.
He described how each of the days would generally go. He states, “Thursday and Friday will be general days. We will have commercial vendor booths throughout the day, as well as your typical entries from your rural schools. Stock shows will kick off Friday. Saturday, as I’m calling it, our big day. We’ll have the cattle show in the morning and it usually wraps up around the noon hour. And then Saturday evening is when the action kicks off for the outdoor concert and food truck festival. Gates open at 6:00 on the east side of the Colosseum. All of the activities will be located in the east side.”
Coulten stated how the community reacts when they hear about the fair coming back. Quoted by Coulten, “Even in years past, prior to us having this, the fair always kinda got people excited. But I have had a tremendous outpour of support from not only my own employees, but from the Garfield County Fair Trusts Authority, as well as the community. Everyone is excited that the fair is moving in the direction that it is moving this year, so we have had great support and encouragement from the county as well.
Cue also gives more information about the concert on the 9th. “It will be Jake Bowers and his great band that he has; so we’re very fortunate to have him. I appreciate all the community to come out and participate with us as well to make this a great event . . . (Jake Bowers) He’s red dirt and country. He has been around a while and performed in several different places.”
