Enid Fire Dept. Wins KNID Cup Beating Enid PD 12-2 at Guns N Hoses

On Friday night the Enid Fire Department took down the Enid Police Department 12-2 in softball action to win the KNID Cup for the 2nd straight year. The game was part of the Guns N Hoses event where the two teams duked it out for charity in front of a huge crowd while KNID broadcasted the game live.

The Enid Fire Department raised money for the Oklahoma Burn Survivors Camp and the Enid Police Department raised money for local cancer patients in Enid. Enid Mayor David Mason throughout the 1st pitch and then did some color commentary with play-by-play man Wyatt Reed.

Following the opening pitch Chisholm High School student Lilly Eckert sang the national anthem.

I did some PA announcing reading jokes about the batters written by their teammates before they headed up to the plate. Although the Enid Fire Department had a better day on the field, all had fun, and both teams were able to raise money for good causes.

For their victory, the Enid Fire Department took home the traveling trophy the KNID Cup for the 2nd straight year. Guns N Hoses was held following the 2023 NJCAA Division 2 World Series opening ceremony.
