Enid Mayor David Mason spoke with the city of Enid Communications Director Derrick Silas about questions from the community. One of the topics to come up was Mason’s plans for youth sports. Another topic that came up was the Kaw Lake Water Pipeline.
Mason discussed the need for the pipeline saying siting an aquifer was low on water” during the drought of 4 or 5 years ago that aquifer went down 4 or 5 feet”. He also addressed those who say the water in the aquifer has come back up saying “It’s come back up about 15 or 16 inches”.
Mason also talked about the challenges Enid would face in attracting more industry without the Kawlake Water Pipeline saying “We can’t bring in more industry that needs or uses a lot of water like Koch industries”.
