Enid Symphony Orchestra Announces New Show: Peter and the Wolf

SHARE NOW

The Enid Symphony Orchestra has announced a new performance set for mid-October titled “Peter and the Wolf”.

The symphony will debut on Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

The story follows a brave young boy named Peter who lives with his grandfather near the forest. Peter’s grandfather warns him about the wild animals in the forest, namely the wolf. One day, Peter decides to venture forth and encounter the animals.

Each animal from the story interacts with Peter playfully and is represented by an instrument: the bird is represented by a flute, the duck by an oboe and the cat by a clarinet. When the wolf appears, he is portrayed by a French horn. The music of “Peter and the Wolf” intends to portray music association with themes and characters.

The Enid SPCA will host an adoption vent in the symphony parking lot at 10 a.m. before the show. Anyone who adopts a pet gets two free tickets.

Ticket prices range from $17.50 for students to $35 for adults. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. along with the cash bar.
