Fatality Collision occurred near Southard Oklahoma

A fatal collision occurred on Saturday, October 21 on country road E660 approximately 1 1/2 miles east of Southard, Ok. The crash involved the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu, Ralph B Schultz, and passengers Carla R Schultz and Leah M Schultz.

The vehicle was heading westbound when the driver got distracted by the radio, causing the car to deviate from the roadway right, striking a bridge embankment. It spun back onto the roadway, and Leah was ejected. The vehicle spun back onto the roadway, and departed the road again, coming to rest in the ditch upright.

Ralph was taken to Okeene Municipal Hospital in Canton EMS and was treated and released. Leah was Air-Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in stable condition with leg, foot, and trunk external injuries. Carla was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained, and taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Josh Byrd #676 of  THU, and assisted by LT John Weimer #112, Trooper Adam Post #407 and Trooper Seth Wallace #572 of Troop J, Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Canton EMS, Canton Fire Department, Okeene Fire Department, Pafford EMS and Air-Evac.
