EnidLIVE! sat down with Lahoma Fire Chief Tyler Wedel and Police Chief Mathew Hankins about the upcoming Lahoma 4th of July Celebration.

Wedel is excited to top last year’s celebration.

“We’re real excited to get this kicking off. Last year, we put on a heck of a show that we felt had a great turnout,” Wedel said. “This year we’re trying to beat it, and I’m pretty confident we will.”

Wedel shared more about what is slated for the fireworks show.

“This year’s show is gonna be quite a bit bigger. I think we counted up a 14,000 show so far,” Wedel said.

Hankins continued by talking about where the fireworks came from. “We had a local lady, Glenda Wehrman [who] has donated a bunch for the finale in memory of Mark Jones [who] was a guy from out there who enjoyed doing his own show.”

On Saturday, June 22, the Lahoma Police and Fire Department will hold Lahoma’s 4th of July Celebration at the Lahoma Community Park.

The event is slated for 5-11 p.m. with a plethora of events such as bounce houses, obstacle courses, a mechanical bull, multiple vendors, and much more!

A pancake breakfast will occur from 8-10 am and fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.
