The Enid Public Library is being attacked by a spam call technique called “spoofing”. “Spoofing, as defined, is the malicious act of falsifying information transmitted to caller ID displays to disguise the true identity of the caller. The Enid Public Library recognizes the importance of addressing this issue promptly and efficiently to protect its patrons from potential harm or misinformation.” – By Enid Public Library.
The City of Enid’s Information Technology Department is collaborating with the phone company to deal with the matter and stop the scam calls. The phone number used is the main phone line for the Enid Public Library (580-234-6313) and the caller identifies as “Healthcare Options”.
If anyone receives these calls, the library advises caution and to verify the authenticity of the caller. For any questions, call the library directly.
