The Philadelphia Phillies continued a hot start to trade deadline day Monday morning with the addition of veteran reliever Brooks Raley from the New York Mets, according to multiple media reports.
The Mets are acquiring a pair of prospects in right-hander Luke Gabrysh and outfielder John Spikerman in the return on the deal for the southpaw, according to the reports.
The Phillies reportedly acquired infielder/three-time batting champion Luis Arraez and reliever Caleb Kilian from San Francisco earlier in the day.
Raley, 38, is in the middle of the best season of his career after returning from Tommy John surgery last July. He’s 5-5 with a 1.96 ERA in 45 relief appearances, striking out 40 and walking 15 in 41 1/3 innings.
He’s allowed two total homers over his 83 appearances across the last three seasons with the Mets and is a pending free agent at the end of the season.
Over nine major league seasons, Raley has a 14-16 record and 3.60 ERA in 302 outings (five starts).
Gabrysh, 23, was a 15th-round pick by Philadelphia in 2024. He’s 3-8 with a 5.14 ERA in 18 games (17 starts) this season for High-A Jersey Shore this season.
Spikerman, 23, was a third-round pick in 2024. He’s hitting .252 with a .423 on-base percentage and 11 RBIs in 32 games between Low-A Clearwater and Jersey Shore.
