JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Feb. 23, 2024) – Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Jonathan Fischer, of Oklahoma City, a former training specialist with Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC) was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal by NMFSC Commander, Rear. Adm. Walter Brafford at NMFSC headquarters. Fischer was instrumental in the execution of the Fiscal Year 2023 Navy Medicine Campaign Order in addition to leading 62 subject matter experts in the review and validation of 363 occupational standards thus preparing 24,000 hospital corpsmen for worldwide assignment. NMFSC develops and delivers integrated education and training that produces operational medical experts to project Medical Power in support of Naval Superiority.
