Authored by Michael Soucek:
The iconic Frank Mobile, previously known as the Weinermobile, is coming to Enid next weekend. Driver Sam Dlott and co-driver Mary Clare will be piloting the Frankmobile around Enid selling hotdogs and hosting fun games. The original idea for the Frankmobile came from Carl Mayer when he presented his idea of a hotdog wagon to his uncle, Oscar Mayer.
The car would drive around and advertise Oscar Mayer hot dogs. He accepted the idea, and the Weinermobile was born. Later in time, more hot dog cars were created to spread more smiles for miles.
There are a total of 5 vehicles in the lineup, with the last one being made in 1977 before the idea was shut down. However, in 1986, Oscar Mayer brought back the Weinermobile for a 50th-anniversary celebration. They created six new hot dog vehicles fitted with microwaves, fridges, phones, and speakers. As time went on, newer and more modern versions of the Weinermobile were created such as The WeinerDrone, The WeinerCycle, and the Super Hotdogger, a member with a JetPack.
