The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Exceeded Expectations on Spreading Awareness

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s event was a success on Friday, September 22. It took place on the North Lawn of the Garfield County Courthouse. The party started at 5:30 pm, and the ceremony and walk started at 6:00 pm.

The walk route was .77 miles. A short route was available, it was .26 miles long.

The normal walk started in front of the lawn and continued on the sidewalk down Independence St to Oklahoma Ave. They continued to South Grand Ave and walked back towards the courthouse, turning on West Randolph Ave and crossing the finish line.

The short walk also started on the courthouse lawn and turned onto Independence St. Then turned across Broadway Ave before going towards North Grand Ave and crossing the finish line.

The Alzheimer’s Association was very happy to announce that they raised $32,778 with this walk with 113 participants and 23 teams.
