The United Way of Northwest Oklahoma is hosting its United Way Day of Kindness to bring joy and resources to Northwest Oklahoma. The event will be on Friday from 5 am to 9 pm and will consist of multiple items of selfless acts.
In Kingfisher, there will be free fountain drinks at Medic Pharmacy Snack Shack for teachers, staff, healthcare workers, military, and first responders.
Great Clips in Enid will give out free haircuts to Veterans and Active Military from Friday to Saturday.
KNID will be handing out Carnations to Greenbrier & Burgundy Place.
Martha O’Banion CC Church will be giving snacks to Enid Fire & Police.
Salvation Army is hosting a lunch at Location #1 University Place Christian Church.
The YMCA will be delivering books, along with multiple supplies.
The Executive Director from United Way Dan Schidel recently had an interview with EnidLIVE! about the massive event. He started by talking about the various events happening. “We have been out providing resources and supplies to a lot of different non-profits, food banks, and other organizations throughout Northwest Oklahoma.”
He also spoke about when they started doing this special event. “There’s what’s called an International Day of Kindness, World Day of Kindness if you will. And that is always on November 13. And so each year United Way in Northwest Oklahoma, beginning in 2014, each year since then we’ve gone out and spread kindness throughout our community and all the communities in Northwest Oklahoma.”
