Various Businesses to Host Free Shred Event

SHARE NOW

AARP Oklahoma, Enid News & Eagle, and Security National Bank are hosting a free shredding event on June 15 to give the public the opportunity to shred their papers for free.

The event will take place in the parking lot south of Security National Bank, 201 W. Maine St., and is free for the public to attend.

Identity theft and fraud can affect anyone, especially elderly adults and military veterans. Shredding documents that contain signatures, social security numbers, and passwords can ensure your personal information is safe from scammers.

The following are guidelines for the event that attendees are requested to follow:

  • Do not bring documents that contain metal items larger than a staple
  • Do not spring magazines or cardboard for shredding
  • All attendees are allotted a maximum of two boxes per person

Oklahoma State Director Sean Voskuhl is offering a complimentary fraud prevention kit to aid in combating scammers. Requesting a kit will automatically enter you into a drawing for a $50 gift card.

Complimentary fraud kits can be obtained here.
