Night of Storms Leads to Damage Reports Across Northwest Oklahoma

Following a night of heavy storms – including several tornados – across the state of Oklahoma, counties and towns across the northwestern portion of the state have reported extensive damages.

Garfield County Emergency Management has reported downed trees and several vehicles that have hydroplaned into ditches. Additionally, flash flood waters have been reported on the road south of Waukomis while three barns south of Bison have been destroyed.

Kingfisher County has reported roof damage to one home in Lacey, damage to one barn near Hennessey and several downed powerlines.

One house was reported to have been struck by lightning in Blaine County. Okeene Emergency Management has also reported damage to trees and power lines as well as flooded streets.

Overall, OG&E has reported 25,914 power outages with the majority occurring in Moore (11,805) and Oklahoma City (5,231). As of 7:45 a.m. this morning, there was a reported 9,600 OG&E customers who were still without power.
